Current highlights of Hungarian mezzo soprano Bori Soós are performing the Rückert Lieder by Gustav Mahler under the baton of Sit John Eliot Gardiner during the Mahler Chamber Orchestra Academy in Bolzano, Italy.
The previous year she participated in the world premiere of Roger Rathgeb´s Vergeten kan ik niet, attended by the Dutch Royal family, amongst others Princess Beatrix.
Her next role debut is Zia Principessa in Florence, Italy at Teatro Niccolini.
Bori started her singing career under the guidiance of Dutch mezzo soprano Christianne Stotijn at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent, where she evolved into a versatile lyrical singer, with vibrant colours leaning towards the more dramatic repertoire.
The past years she has worked with renowned vocal coaches and singers, such as Margreet Honig, Camilla Tilling, Marcel Boone and many others.
Bori is frequently invited as an interpreter of German song cycles by Mahler and Wagner and as alto soloist in various oratorio by, amongst others, Bach, Mozart and Händel. Her operatic repertoire consists of maily passionate and strong female characters, such as the Witch in Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel and Bizet's world's favourite Carmen.
